As was already said on StudentUnion.ca, the SFSS bank accounts have been frozen. There was some question of whether this meant that payroll would not go through, but that question has now been answered for me by an anonymous employee of the SFSS. Employees are not able to cash their cheques currently. [...]

I just ran across the following poem on the fridge here at home. It was written by a fellow co-op member here. He’s out of town right now, but i’m assuming that since he had it published in this little booklet, he won’t mind if i republish it on the web here. [...]

I had my first shift at my new job yesterday. I’m basically a computer babysitter at a place that hosts other people’s computers and hooks them all up to super-high-bandwidth. Big businesses park their servers there so that their customers will have fast access to their shopping websites and stuff like that.

Lately i’m taking the opportunity to study Go for a bit. I figured that since i have some spare time, it’d be nice to advance my knowledge of the game a bit more. I’m quite a fan of intense periods of studying just about anything…juggling, languages, whatever. If you can immerse yourself [...]

Well, i escaped Ladner finally. The bus service there was pretty limiting. Now i’m at a rad coop in New Westminster. Communal meals 4 days a week (possibly moving to 5 soon), and group food purchasing. It’s two houses side-by-side with a big yard. One huge kitchen with industrial gear [...]
