8 days left
I guess i’ve been neglecting the blog for a while, but prepare for a whirlwind. i have 8 days left until i leave for Shanghai. I’ll be spending a few days there just wandering around and doing the touristy thing, then i’ll be meeting up with my classmates from SFU on May 3rd and we’ll all go 180km southwest to the city of Hangzhou. We’ll have a few days to get settled into our new rooms in the Zhejiang University dorms and then we start chinese class on May 8th.
Thursday i got my passport back, with a new sticker in it declaring my permission to enter china and stay for 180 days. Once i get to china, i’m gonna extend that so i can stay for fall courses until february, and so that i can have multiple entries and exits…maybe i can make it back for my highschool reunion in the summer ;) Today i just got a new backpack and a money-belt, so it seems more like the trip is for real now. I basically just need to pack up my shit and move out of my current place, and then i’m pretty much ready to go.
I just made my hostel reservation for shanghai. Yay for the internets! I’m thinking that i’ll take one of my 3 days in shanghai to take a train to Suzhou to check out the botanical gardens there, and the other 2 days i’ll just wander around shanghai and take in the sights. I’ll be sure to post plenty of pics :)
