As was already said on StudentUnion.ca, the SFSS bank accounts have been frozen. There was some question of whether this meant that payroll would not go through, but that question has now been answered for me by an anonymous employee of the SFSS. Employees are not able to cash their cheques currently. [...]

I’ve been reading the SFSS constitution this morning, along with various legal letters back and forth between lawyers, and i’ve come to an interesting conclusion. I believe that the Student Forum has the ability to appoint acting board members now that there are 7 vacant positions on the board of directors.
In a [...]

Lately i’ve been participating in the effort to impeach several members of the Simon Fraser Student Society board of directors. On wednesday there was a Special General Meeting (SGM) where a total of 1028 students participated in impeaching the “G7″ group of seven directors. The vote to impeach the president was 724 in [...]

Entitlement and objectification is reinforced by the [...]

I was talking with some of my fellow co-opers today about garden plans. It seems that there’s someone at city hall who’s in charge of community garden ideas and is quite receptive to proposals. We have a tentative plan to dig up a large area between our front fence and the sidewalk. [...]

Lately i’ve become more interested in gardening, although i still know next to nothing about it. The place where i’m living has lots of nice garden area, and we’re planning to greatly expand the gardens next year, so i’m trying to educate myself a bit before i actually have to plant anything. This [...]
