I got some good questions about my previous article on cars, both on- and off-line, so i thought i’d shoot a few responses out there for consideration. The main response i’ve been getting (and have had on other topics as well) is that i’m not “being realistic”. I think the main thing i’m [...]
i’ve been pondering about transportation issues a lot this week. I recently read a letter that someone wrote to the federal transportation minister about mandatory maximum weights for personal vehicles. It was really interesting and thought-provoking…although i knew that cars were dangerous because of their tremendous weight, i hadn’t considered the issues that [...]
I love the weather lately. I had to get outside yesterday for some photography, since today i was busy fundraising. It’s been pretty nice here, especially since all the trees just got leaves in the past week or two, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

It’s friday night right now, and i just packed a pannier to take on my ride tomorrow morning. I’m going with the BC Randonneurs bike club to do a 200km bike ride. I’m super excited and happy…it should be a fun time.
The route should be from burnaby to surrey and then to ladner, [...]
i went out with ryan g today to do some riding. We’re both preparing for the 200km Randonneur ride next saturday, so we decided to do the first half of the route today.
We met at the Patullo bridge, between New Westminster and Surrey (about 20km southeast of downtown Vancouver) at 9:30am. This [...]
i had a great time on sunday! i rode in the first ride of the season for the Randonneurs’ bike club chapter here in vancouver. Known as the “pacific populaire”, this ride has options for 25km, 50km, and 100km. i did the 100km version with several friends and it was a blast.
me [...]
