squamish ride in 7 hours
well, the day is here. in 7 hours, jack and i are gonna be on our bikes heading to squamish. it’s a 75km ride and we’re planning to be there before 9am to watch the start of the triathlon. I don’t know when we’re heading back, but i’d like to see the end of the tri.
today i’m feeling pretty happy and relaxed. i went out and fixed my bike at the local community bike shop, and i got my flash card replaced for my camera. both of those things were getting on my nerves…my crank (attaching the pedal to the bottom bracket) was creaking every time i put pressure on it and that was driving me insane. my camera was refusing to take any more pictures after the flash card was 2/3 full. anyway, they both got dealt with today, and then i had a rather relaxing and stress-free ride around town and had coffee with a friend.
with 5 more workdays left, i’m starting to imagine what my days will be like when i have no boss to report to. i think i’ll sleep in for a few days, but i’d like to make a habit of getting up at 8am just so i don’t waste all my days away. it’ll be interesting and challenging to figure out a tentative schedule where i can have a certain amount of time every day to just do whatever feels good, and to balance that with set-aside time to work on various ongoing projects.
Since high-school graduation 9 years ago, i haven’t really had any time where i made the schedule myself. I’ve always had full-time school or full-time work determining the large part of my schedule. i think it’ll be a blast to have a real vacation.
well, time for sleep. gotta get up soon. I’ll post pictures when i get back tomorrow afternoon
Ride hard, ride free
