summer reading

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

although i’ve been neglecting the blog a bit, i’ve been out and about doing lots of other things. one of my goals for my time off was to do a lot of reading, so i thought i’d run through a couple interesting books i’ve read lately.
The Telling, by Ursula K. Le Guin
I’ve been trying [...]

Dose published my photo ;)

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

hey. i’ve been busy living the good life, but i should get back to blogging.

first, i thought i’d mention that the Dose newspaper published one of my photos yesterday. With the title and caption, they seem to imply that it’s a photo of Londoners getting back to their day-to-day lives after the [...]

ahh, wondrous holidays

in the morning, i went out early with sara and james, and we rode our bikes to Belcarra park [...]

1.5 hours of work left!

Friday, July 15th, 2005

well, here i am at work, watching the last few minutes tick away. in an hour and a half, i’ll be a free man. Working here hasn’t been particularly strenuous, but the standard emotional exhaustion of not being able to pursue all of the things i have on my list of goals has [...]

fun in squamish

Monday, July 11th, 2005

I’m still a bit tired today, but our trip to squamish on sunday was a great success. Jack and i met at 4:30am and rode the sea-to-sky highway, and then had a fabulous time bouncing around the squamish triathlon course trying to get pictures of our friends and to cheer them on.

We had planned [...]

profiting from bombs

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

i just heard about this bomb blast in london, and i’m already fuckin disgusted at the blathering of “world leaders” about it. the big-wigs are milking it for all it’s worth, and trying to use it as evidence of their eternal benevolence and innocence. fuck, take a look at some of these quotes [...]

ticking of the clock

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

my remaining time at work is occupying my thoughts lately. I’ve got 7 more work-days to go, and i’m super excited about having full days to devote to reading, learning, riding my bike, connecting with friends, and soaking up some rays. I’ve got a few more loose ends to tie up at work, [...]

chilliwack report-back part 2: day of the mass

Monday, July 4th, 2005

upon waking up on friday morning, my back felt kinda sore…there was some kind of bump in the ground that i’d been sleeping on. I slowly got up, and found out that some of the early birds had been making breakfast. some of the others, like james here in the picture, were slow [...]
