monitor shopping
damn. today’s not off to a good start. I turned on my computer this morning, and the monitor made crazy high-pitched banshee noises combined with white noise, and then only lit up the middle 50 pixels in a crazy wave pattern. after fiddling with cables for a while, i realized it’s not a connection problem. the monitor itself is dead. I guess i’ve had it for almost 8 years, so it was well worth the money i spent, but it’s still annoying. Oh well…time to shop around, i guess. somehow, i’m still feeling mostly happy in spite of this. i hope everyone else is doing well :)

Check out TigerDirect.com. I just picked up a 22″ inch monitor for less then $200.

ya, i was looking there. i’m thinking about an LCD, though. i’d like to reclaim a bunch of my desk space. my current (broken) monitor is a 19″ and it takes up a significant portion of my desk. I’ll probably go for a 17″ LCD for $250, and then i’ll be able to fit something to write on between the monitor and the keyboard.
